우리나라 학술지의 질에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 미국의 학술지와 비교해서 우리나라 학술지의 수준이 어떤지, 구체적으로 어떤 측면이 우수하거나 부족한지, 학문분야별로 어떤 차이가 있는지 등에 대하여 교수들이 자기분야의 학술지들을 어떻게 평가하고 있는지 밝히는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 교수들에게 설문지를 배포하여 평가하게 한 결과 다음과 같은 사실이 밝혀졌다. 1. 한국과 미국의 학술지 수준에 대해 종합적으로 평가한 결과 미국의 학술지가 모든 평가항목에서 더 우수하다는 평가를 받고 있음이 나타났다. 한국의 학술지는 형식의 적합성이 가장 높은 평가를 받았고, 한국과 미국의 학술지의 수준 차이는 주제의 독창성 및 유용성 면에서 가장 많이 나타났다.2. 학문분야별로 한국과 미국의 학술지 수준 차에 대해 종합적으로 평가한 결과 모든 학문분야에서 미국의 학술지가 한국의 학술지보다 종합적인 면에서 더 우수하다는 평가를 받고 있음이 나타났다. 수의학에서 미국의 학술지가 가장 높은 평가를 받고 있으며, 생활과학에서 가장 낮은 평가를 받고 있음이 나타났다. 3. 미국 수학기간에 관계없이 미국의 학술지를 한국의 학술지보다 종합적인 면에서 더 우수하다고 평가하고 있음이 나타났다. 4. 미국 수학기간이 2년을 초과하여 미국 학술지에 대해 더 익숙할 것으로 추측되는 그룹이 2년 이하 그룹보다 미국 학술지를 더 높게 평가하고 있다.

Abstract

The object of this study is to compare qualitative level of the Korean and American journal paper by faculty members in Korea. To achieve this object, the data was produced by the questionnaires from professors of the Chonbuk National University. The major conclusions are summarized as follows:1. As a whole, American journal is evaluated better than Korean journal. The greatest difference between Korean journal and American journal is that the American journal is more original and useful than Korean journal.2. This study shows that American journal which deals with veterinary science is highly valuable and with living science is low. In Korean journal, the appropriateness of format is highly valuable.3. The respondents who had studied in America for more than two years evaluate American journal more excellent than those for less than two years.4. Regardless of the periods of study in America, however, most of respondents evaluate American journal better than Korean journal in all parts.
