디지털도서관의 품질평가에 관한 연구

초록

이 논문의 목적은 우리가 구축해 놓은 디지털도서관의 품질을 종합적으로 검증해 보고, 향후 품질관리및 개선을 위한 거시적 전략을 제시하는데 있다. 이를 위해, 먼저 다양한 의미로 해석되고 있는 디지털도서관의 개념을 정리하였고, 선행연구와 이용자조사에 근거하여 품질검증을 위한 평가항목을 개발하였다. 이지털도서관을 선정하여 연구팀이 개발한 평가항목에 의거하여 품질을 검증하였다. 검증 결과, 우리의 디지털도서관은 괄목할 양적 성장을 이루었지만, 디지털 콜렉션과 시스템 기능에 있어 품질개선을 위한 여러과제를 안고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 이에, 우리 디지털도서관의 건강한 발전을 위한 품질관리와 개선 전략을 국가적 차원에서 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the quality of digital libraries which Korean society has built with. To the end, first discussed is the operational definition of digital library, which has a variety of meanings and definitions. For the quality evaluation, 10 criteria were developed on the basis of both literature review and user survey. Followed was a thorough investigation to identify the present status of digital library construction. Then, we selected the most representative digital libraries in Korea, and conducted the quality verification on the basis of previously developed 10 criteria. The conclusion includes both major causes of low quality and some strategies for improving the low quality of digital libraries at the national level.
