A Study on the Management of Medical Libraries

오늘날의 의학도서관은 진료, 연구, 의료업무 등과 관련된 정보를 제공하는 전문도서관으로서 보다 합리적이고 효율적인 개념을 바탕으로 하는 경영이 요구되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 의학도서관의 경영에 대한 이론적 배경을 살펴본 뒤, 서울시에 소재한 의학도서관을 대상으로 직접방문과 웹페이지 그리고 통계자료를 통하여 의학도서관의 경영자원에 관한 운영실태를 비교ㆍ분석하고, 그 분석의 결과를 바탕으로 효과적이고 효율적인 운영을 위한 방향을 제시함으로써 의학도서관 나아가 도서관경영 일반의 합리화에 기틀을 마련하고자 하였다. ABSTRACTThe medical library, as a professional information center in relation to medical examination and treatment, research, and medical administration, should be operated under the rational and efficient library management. In that context, this study examines the theoretical underpinnings of the medical library management, and compares and analyzes, through direct visits, webpages, and statistical data, the current library operation of medical libraries in Seoul. This study also tries to make a managemental framework for the medical library by suggesting and discussing the result of this research.
